POSITION: Software Developer, emphasis on C/Postgres library development |
Background: Software developer Digonex Technologies focuses primarily on development of automated and optimized pricing platforms for e-commerce, allowing client companies to increase customer retention, and maximize revenue.
We work with current and potential clients in addition to industry consultants to design parts of our dynamic pricing software. Specifically, we work to understand the markets we aim to penetrate and the products that make up those markets so that we can best programmatically analyze sales of those products in order to select, at any moment in time, “best” prices for those products; this research results in both English and mathematical descriptions of pricing strategies that need to be added to our software. |
Description: The Software Developer is primarily responsible for coding and keeping up to date DOE, our dynamic pricing platform. This position has a strong emphasis on coding algorithms for use by DOE. This candidate must be able to digest and clarify the English and math used to explain pricing procedures and ultimately implement them as libraries for use in the DOE pricing platform, a process which is heavily dependent on working with Postgres.
The major parts of this process are:
- Researching any referenced 3rd party libraries, may include writing our own implementation of such libraries.
- Raising concerns if the pricing platform doesn’t mesh well with a given pricing strategy.
- Reformulating each pricing strategy to fit within the DOE and work with the information organization therein, including writing/analyzing of stored procedures and triggers.
- Seeking out and vocalizing any gaps in proposed pricing strategies.

It is also possible that this person will have to design, implement, run, and summarize specialized stress tests to performance under differing and assumption-breaking scenarios as well as general simulations to demonstrate the product. |
Skills: This person needs to have a strong mathematical background, be able to research and summarize findings, and communicate efficiently with Ph.D. level economists. This individual must be able to work alone and in a team. |
Technologies/Languages Used: Java, C, JDBC, Postgres, Postgres SPI, 3rd party math libraries, Excel, basic UNIX utilities, and Maple. |
