Digital Online Exchange (DOE) is a cutting-edge dynamic pricing solution that optimally prices products based on consumer demand. This innovative new technology solves many of the pricing challenges that face all retailers.

The goal of Digonex’s software is to automate the successful profit optimization processes already in place and improve upon them by evaluating the market for the entire product catalog. Instead of focusing only on “best sellers,” DOE can analyze sales for a retailer’s entire product catalog and optimally price goods based on consumer demand, maximizing returns.

The DOE pricing solution is versatile and can benefit online or brick and mortar retailers. DOE technology easily interfaces with any Point-of-Sale (POS) or inventory tracking system. DOE is a centralized solution; Digonex servers reside in a secure location and clients anywhere can use DOE via the internet. All communication is done over a secure connection.

There are several interface options available:
  • Web Service
To make optimal use of DOE’s features and benefits, the preferred connection method between the client systems and DOE is a web service. A web service is a programmatic interface that allows applications to communicate over a network. Some of the more popular web servers, which can be used to implement a web service, include Apache and IIS.

Most companies and all existing e-commerce sites will already have a web server in place. The client has multiple options for choosing a web service solution, as DOE technology allows it to easily integrate with any system.

  • BizTalk Adapter NEW!
An alternative to using the Web Services directly is to utilize the DOE Adapter for BizTalk. The adapter interfaces with the client’s BizTalk installation and handles communication with DOE. The DOE Adapter for BizTalk facilitates efficient integration with existing business processes. The adapter package also includes a Product Management Business Tool for managing the client’s dynamic pricing configuration.

  • SFTP
Another alternative connection method is to create and send flat files via a secure file transfer protocol (FTP) server. The technology required to use the SFTP method is simpler than using a web service; however, the client only has access to limited DOE functionality.

With SFTP, the client compiles product data and action requests in a pipe-delimited file. The client then posts the file to a secure FTP server provided by Digonex. A technical resource is required to perform these functions; however, this person will require less programming experience than with the web service option. Responses from DOE are sent via email. With this method, price updates are returned from DOE in a flat file posted to a second secure FTP site provided by the client.

  • SwiftStart
For those clients who do not have a web service or web development team, SwiftStart is a website that allows clients to interact directly with DOE. However, SwiftStart users only have access to a limited set of DOE actions.

Clients can use SwiftStart to submit and change their products via an online form or by uploading a spreadsheet. Products must be submitted one at a time with the online form. Multiple products can be submitted or updated as a batch process using the spreadsheet method. The client uploads spreadsheets based on templates provided by Digonex. This solution, whether using the online form or spreadsheet version, is not recommended for clients with more than 25 products.
